I have been an Instagram user for almost 10+ years since the day they launched but never felt the way I am feeling right now about the platform. Instagram is a social media platform where people can share anything from them, dropping their phone to killing someone.

It has been a platform to share things with the world. I have gathered a decent follower base in all these years, and with Instagram bringing new updates such as stories, we are all hooked to it for an almost major part of the day. We are addicted. But in recent times, I have seen that this platform is becoming dark.

There were days when checking my newsfeed was exciting, and the content was either happy, bubbly, or something that would make me jealous. But now, it is all toxic with people posting content that will ruin your mood. It is becoming a platform where people share news on a day to day basis.

I am a fashion photographer from the city of Hyderabad, India. I use Instagram to showcase my fashion photography work and follow my peers. I get a lot of inspiration from various other photographers and also use it to connect with many models and makeup artists.

It’s a great platform to create a portfolio and engage with your fans, but if the other people don’t stop posting dark content, we will have to find different platforms. Because not everyone wants to see how many people were killed/raped first thing in the morning when they wake up.

I understand that recent times have not been so kind, and people are angry, but going out and exhaling all that anger on the social media platform will not bring you mental peace.
