FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY vs STREET PHOTOGRAPHY

FASHION PHOTOGRAPHY vs STREET PHOTOGRAPHY

Are you a budding photographer who just purchased his first DSLR and want to experiment and learn but are not sure where to start? Are you shooting the right way? Are you conscious?

Do you feel people will judge you by your images? Well, a lot of photographers get these questions in mind. Some try to avoid and do things their way while some feel shy and don’t create at all. If you are confused between Street Photography and Fashion Photography, I can help you with my experience.

ART Well, both image forms have drama and storytelling elements in them. Street photography helps you work on your framing and makes you a fast shooter as you have to be active not to miss the right moment, whereas fashion photography is something where you plan your images way before you click them.

You can create a lot of drama using artificial lights and make your pictures more happening. MONEY There is this myth that you can only earn money through commercial photography.

Yes, it’s true. But not entirely. One can also make money through street images. You can make a collection of series and set up an art exhibition where you can sell all your prints. ( Remember that only photos with a story and drama sell. ) You can submit your pictures for stock licensing, where you can make quite the right amount of money.

I remember this image of an empty street that I had clicked and later submitted for licensing. I received Rs.2000 for one time use for which I was super excited. I share a set of images that I clicked during a visit to Mumbai. I love to shoot street in black and white. So most of the street photos you see will be black and white.
